BERG FlatGround trampolines in Mayo
A FlatGround finishes flush with the lawn. Nothing stands above the grass unless you choose a net, so there is no step, no ladder, and no frame between the kitchen window and the view. It also sits at ground level, which means it catches far less wind than a trampoline on legs. In Mayo that counts for a good deal.
This page has all 23 FlatGround models, from €699 to €4,999, in the Champion, Elite and Pro Bouncer ranges, delivered free across the county. The trade is that a flush trampoline leans hardest on the ground beneath it. Read Mayo ground and drainage before you settle on a size.
Low to the wind
Belmullet appears twice in Met Éireann's record table, for the highest February gust on record (172 km/h, 9 February 1988) and the highest May gust (144 km/h, 23 May 2011). Our own guide to anchoring says that on an exposed or coastal site an in-ground trampoline is worth considering, and the FlatGround is the lowest of them.
Keep one thing in mind. A safety net puts height back. If you choose a model with the Safety Net Deluxe XL, follow BERG's storm advice and take the net and the padding off before heavy weather.
Mayo ground and drainage
The frame of a FlatGround lies at lawn level over a hollow, so rainwater must be able to get away. BERG asks for "adequate drainage" and a check of the ground-water level. Both are for the installer to assess, standing in your garden.
There is plenty of water to deal with. Met Éireann says rainfall in the west generally averages 1,000 to 1,400 mm a year, where most of the east gets 750 to 1,000 mm. Newport recorded rain on 258 days in 2025, the highest count in the country.
What it falls on changes across the county. Peat bog covers most of the north-west, according to Mayo County Council's Landscape Appraisal. Clew Bay is drumlin country, sharply undulating around Westport and Newport, and BERG needs level ground. The south-east, on the Claremorris, Ballinrobe and Ballyhaunis side, is limestone lowland, and a Teagasc soils feature in the Irish Farmers Journal describes soils on limestone sands and gravels between Castlebar, Claremorris and Ballinrobe as excessively draining.
Those are broad strokes. They say nothing certain about any one lawn, and two sites a field apart can behave differently after a wet week. Ask an installer, landscaper or builder to see the site before you pay for the trampoline. We publish no hole sizes or drainage methods: BERG's manual and the installer supply those.

Champion, Elite or Pro Bouncer: specification and frame warranty
| Range | Springs | Jumping mat | Protective edge | Frame warranty | FlatGround from |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Champion | TwinSpring | AirFlow Pro | 30mm thick, 38cm wide | 10 years, 13 when registered | €699 |
| Elite | TwinSpring | AirFlow Pro | 30mm thick, 38cm wide | 10 years, 13 when registered | €1,349 |
| Pro Bouncer | TwinSpring Pro | AirFlow Pro | 60mm thick, 49cm wide | 10 years, 13 when registered | €2,829 |
The warranty shown is BERG's manufacturer warranty on the frame: 10 years on a Champion, an Elite or a Pro Bouncer, which becomes 13 when you register with BERG. Champion and Elite use the same springs and mat and both carry the CE mark and the GS mark (TÜV). The Elite's tubing is heavier and its padding is covered for 5 years where the Champion's is covered for 2. The rectangular Elite is made in a single size, 500 x 300cm. The Pro Bouncer has a thicker, wider protective edge and BERG rates it for users up to 120kg. At 16 x 10ft or 16 x 16ft, it wants a big level site. All four ranges are described on the BERG trampoline range page.
How to choose: round or rectangular
Round FlatGround models come in 330, 380 and 430cm, in Champion or Elite. None has a net, so they are the ones that vanish into the lawn.
Rectangular models start with the 200 x 200cm (6 x 6ft) square at €699 and run up to the Pro Bouncer. Choose a larger rectangle if you want a net or the AeroWall. Whatever the shape, BERG asks for 2 m clear at the sides and 7 m overhead. The size guide helps with the measuring.
FlatGround against the other two types
The InGround is sunk too, but leaves a low raised edge. It begins at €339, it is the type that includes the Favorit range and the ovals, and a net is offered on every size.
The Regular above-ground trampoline begins at €449 with its net. It needs no digging and it does need anchoring. Choosing a trampoline in Mayo weighs up all three.
How it reaches you in Mayo
Mayo Trampolines is run by Trampolines Ireland, an official BERG Premium Dealer. We sell online and deliver across County Mayo by courier. The haulier is East West Express, based in Charlestown, Co. Mayo, a member of The Pallet Network. The pallet is put down at the kerbside and signed for, and from there the boxes are yours to bring in. The pallet stays with you.
No FlatGround carries a delivery charge. If we have the model in stock it is delivered within 48 hours. If we do not, allow 7 to 10 days as a rule, and we confirm the date when you order. Details are on the Mayo delivery page.
Our job stops at delivery
We supply and deliver. The groundwork and fitting are done by an independent installer, a landscaper or a builder, who prices the job after seeing the site. If you would like us to put you in touch with one, ring 091 423 369. It helps to have their answer on drainage before you place the order.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a FlatGround trampoline suit a windy Mayo site?+
It suits one better than a trampoline on legs does, because it sits at ground level and so catches far less wind. On an exposed or coastal site we suggest considering an in-ground model for that reason. If you add a safety net, the net does catch wind, and BERG's advice is to take it off before a heavy storm.
Will a FlatGround drain in Mayo's rain?+
That depends on the ground in your own garden, and it is the installer's call. BERG requires adequate drainage and a check of the ground-water level for a trampoline set into the lawn. The county ranges from peat bog in the north-west to limestone lowland in the south-east, and Met Éireann gives rainfall in the west as 1,000 to 1,400 mm a year on average. Have the site looked at before you order.
How much does a BERG FlatGround cost?+
From €699 for the 200 x 200cm (6 x 6ft) Ultim Champion up to €4,999. A round Champion starts at €999 and the Pro Bouncer at €2,829. Delivery in Mayo is free on all of them. The groundwork is a separate cost, quoted by the installer.
Which FlatGround models can take a safety net?+
The larger rectangles. A net is an option on the 410 x 250cm and 500 x 300cm sizes, and the Pro Bouncer comes with the Safety Net Deluxe XL or with none. Round FlatGround models and the two smallest rectangular ones are sold without a net.
What is BERG's warranty on a FlatGround frame?+
BERG's manufacturer warranty on the frame is the same for a Champion, an Elite and a Pro Bouncer: 10 years, or 13 when the trampoline is registered with BERG.
Can I get a Favorit or an oval as a FlatGround?+
No. The FlatGround is made in Champion, Elite and Pro Bouncer only, and in round, rectangular and square shapes. For a Favorit or an oval sunk into the lawn, the InGround is the one to look at.
Who fits a FlatGround trampoline in Mayo?+
An independent installer, landscaper or builder, working from BERG's manual. We supply and deliver and do not install. The installer visits, judges the ground and gives you their own quote. Ask us and we will put you in touch with one.
Would a FlatGround work on your site?
Send photos and rough measurements, and tell us how the lawn copes after heavy rain. We will suggest a size and say what an installer will want to check. It is free and there is no obligation.
